Welcome

The Virginia Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) welcomes you!

The Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and securing America's future through better education.

Mrs. Patricia Musick Hatfield is our thirty-seventh State Regent. Her theme for 2010 - 2013 is DAR Together in Harmony: Celebrating the Past, Inspiring the Present, Anticipating the Future.

Mrs. Hatfield's State Regent's Project is to honor the volunteer militia of the Revolutionary War Battle at King's Mountain. The goal is to purchase museum-quality display cases that will house various artifacts from this Revolutionary battle. Mrs. Hatfield's project will support the W. Blair Keller, Jr., Interpretive Center at the Abingdon Muster Grounds.

Virginia DAR is proud to have 132 active chapters in seven districts, with about 9,000 members throughout the Commonwealth. Virginia Daughters serve as chairmen for thirty-seven national committees and commissions and twenty-five state committees.
